I really dislike Bill Maher’s show and Bill O’Reilly is a showboat, but I listen to both, just for the balance . Know your enemy, how can
you engage them if you don’t know them. Don’t be like the intolerant left, that’s their game, let’s forge our own path.

One of my favorite occurrences is meeting a former student (from 30+ years ago) and hearing of their successes, families and appreciation for my instruction all those years ago. Competence in the non-union trades has slipped to some degree, and this can be blamed on the lack of support for vocational education.

Since Mike uses every available venue to promote his “ideology”, there should be no pushback for his appearances on ANY program. Mike does not publicly espouse political philosophy and the knee-jerkers that complain about his appearances on their “enemy” channels should just clam up and listen.

When we talk to people who disagree with us, that gives us the opportunity of showing those people that there are indeed common themes that we CAN agree on. And we might actually find that we, too, agree with those folks on lots of things. So bravo, Mike Rowe for taking yourself out of that polarized complacent comfort zone.
